Top 100 Young Adult Books

So I've seen this list on a couple of other blogs and I was really excited to see what books were considered to be in the top 100 YA books.  I don't know exactly who made it, but from the looks of it they're pretty darn good! I was really interested in seeing what books made the list, but I was more interested to see which ones I've actually read. After going through it though, I was so surprised to see I have barely read any of the books! Maybe I'll make it a goal to read all of them because as an avid YA reader, I completely failed on this list. But here it is! Let me know what you all think of it!

  1. Cool list! I like the idea of it, but I don't think I agree with most of the rankings, haha.

  2. Oops! I just noticed they are in alphabetical order, not in order of awesomeness. Well, in that case .... !!

  3. Oh wow, some of those books are taking me back to middle and high school. Especially Harry Potter and Princess Diaries. Those are just classic books. Man, and I just recently finished The Series of Unfortunate Events Series. That is just too good.

Whoever came up with the list did an excellent job. Some of them, obviously, I won't agree with but most of them are fabulous books. Now I want to go to the bookstore and buy them! :) Anyway, interesting list!

  4. I got a bit of a fright when I saw beastly at number 1! But Jinny set me right by pointing out it goes in alphabetical order! It is a good list. There are a few recent releases that must be added to it. Thanks for sharing :)

  6. No Lauren Barnholdt? No Jennifer Echols? A fun list, but not complete without those two!

  7. I don't know, no Jenny Han, No Jeri Smith-Ready, Deb Caletti, Stephanie Perkins. Just seems like an awful lot of series. Way more than 100 books.
Though I am glad to see the Alex Rider series and the Artemis Fowl series included. Where's Charlie Bone? Where's H.I.V.E.? I wanna know who made this list??? They left a lot of great books off of it and some I don't agree with.

I mean, sure I love watching PLL on t.v. but is it really a top 100 YA book? I've tried reading it. It's too confusing now that I'm watching the series. But I wouldn't put on the same list as John Green and Maureen Johnson. And some of these would definitely be considered MG as opposed to YA.

Sorry, but there also seems like no indie or self published authors on there. Amanda Hocking, JL Bryan? It reads more like a list of top 100 YA series. Don't mean to rain on your parade and I know you didn't make the list, I just think it needs a rethink.IMVHO
